PKvitality wins EIT European Health Catapult in Medtech category

Paris, December 04, 2019 – PKvitality, a French company specialized in bio wearables, was awarded first position in Medtech category in European Health Catapult held on 2 and 3 December 2019 at Paris. PKvitality is currently working on the development of K’Watch project, a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) in a form of a smartwatch.

With over 200 top start-ups from all over the Europe participating, European Health Catapult is the biggest competition for health and related start-ups in Europe. It is also a training program that aims to boost the development of top-notch European health start-ups through exposure to leading experts and international investors.

The finals, held at Palais Brongniart Paris during the EIT Health Summit, had over 1000 stakeholders, representing the entire healthcare innovation landscape coming together for 2 days, to interact with experts and opinion leaders, decision makers and cutting-edge innovators on the topics most relevant in healthcare today.

For the European final, PKvitality pitched to a selected jury, then to all the attendees at EIT Health Summit and was awarded First Prize. Medtech jury members were 7 experts as Roland Kozlowski, Mentor, Investor and company Director, Véronique Vermeeren, principal at Imec.xpand, Celia Hart, Partner at Supernova Invest, Alejo Costa Ribalta, Global General manager at GE healthcare, Nicola Wall, Founder and CEO at Afortiori Development, Joachim Rautter, Co-founder and Managing Director at Peppermint Venture Partners, and Lena Söderström, member of the board of directors at several life science companies.

We would like to warmly thank the Jury, the audience and EIT Health for this honour and the very good organization. The European Health Catapult award as best European startup in Medtech gives us a huge amount of visibility to large community of investors and experts, and will be of great help in developing useful partnerships for K’Watch project and finalizing Series A funding, which is already 50% closed” said Luc Piérart, PKvitality CEO and founder. “Ultimately, it will enable us to speed up the development of K’Watch project, and vastly improve the lives of millions of diabetics around the world
